Now is the time for all good men to come to the aid of their country. I think that that statement best sums up the problems with religion and politics in the us today. Neither one is free from the other.
If, though, you were to examen the other workings of the religious mind,

I think you would agree with me that niether can exisit without the other.
It would seem that one is no better than the other and yet both require the linkings of the first.
As evidenced by the picture we had a wonderful time. Don’t mind the husband…he did not smile in any picture he took of both of us…I think he was too busy concentrating on taking the picture!
I look very scary i the pictures as well…why is it that I don’t see that person in the mirror each day but only in a picture? I think it is because when I look in the mirror I just see my soul but a picture just shows an image….anyway…
See…he did smile so he did have a good time as well. But we did have a good time. Although we went with family we found lots of time to just ourselves. The weather was beautiful each day. A few sprinkles but mostly just lovely fall weather…and coming from 100 degrees it was heaven. We spent way too much $ getting “stuff” for the daughter but the husband bought me a beautiful necklace (I’m wearing in the picture) and I bought him a knife he was lusting over so we all made out like bandits. We went on a jeep trip, a canoe trip, a nature hike and a horseback ride…just way too much fun. Alaska is a beautiful place and I’d love to go back and spend more time actually in the country and not on a boat.
But most of all I just had a great time with the husband. It is wonderful to me that we are enjoying each other so much. Too many couples say that have nothing to talk about after the kids are gone but we are actually enjoying each other’s company. Can’t hope for more.
The daughter did show up today for her gifts and we had a good time visiting with her as well. She is maturing in just these few short weeks living away. It is amazing to see what you have nutured grow up and not actually need you anymore but still want to talk to you and be a part of your life.
I have tomorrow still off work and then back on Tuesday and Wednesday. Thursday I leave for Seattle for a conference and will be there until Sunday. Anyone live in Seattle?
Many others have found this to be true as well. What many don’t recognize, though, is that the words of the many aren’t necessarily valid for the few. This is the day that we have come to expect after dawns of loss and loss of dawns.
